Parent Company Celebrates Anniversary
WESLEY CHAPEL,FL--WebbSource, the parent company of the Town Crier, is celebrating its 10 th year in business. Started in Gatlinburg Tennessee, it started out as an Internet lodging advertising company. Back then computers and especially the Internet were brand new. Many potential clients, though interested, didnt have a computer and no computer skills. So Elliott Prizant, owner and founder, had no choice but to go into the computer business. Sort of a cart before the horse situation. Back in 1994 there were no Pentium chips and no Windows 95. Compared today with all the technology available, it was pretty primitive back then. We built our customers computers, as there was no Dell in those days, and taught our customers to run them. Many lessons that we taught today, we had just learned yesterday. A computer back then cost about $2000 in parts alone not counting labor.
Lead in Environment Causing Violent Crime - Study WASHINGTON- Lead left in paint, water, soil and elsewhere may not only be affecting children's intelligence but may cause a significant proportion of violent crime, a U.S. researcher argued Friday. He said the U.S. government needs to do more to lower lead levels in the environment and parents need to think more about where their children may be getting exposed to lead. "When environmental lead finds its way into the developing brain, it disturbs neural mechanisms responsible for regulation of impulse. That can lead to antisocial and criminal behavior," said Dr. Herbert Needleman, a professor of psychiatry and pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. EDITORS NOTE: |
