Several medical facilities are eyeing the developing area along S.R. 56 between I-75 and Bruce B. Downs Boulevard for new offices. The population explosion in Central Pasco County can't help but attract the medical community.
The owner of the Hyde Park Cancer Center in Tampa has submitted plans to build a 14,000-square- foot facility in the Cypress Creek development very near the proposed New Tampa Surgery Center. Another south Tampa doctor is submitting plans for a clinic to be built off State Road 56 near Interstate 75.
The Wiregrass Ranch project proposes a medical center to be built in the next four or five years as a satellite of the East Pasco Regional Medical Center currently in Zephyrhills. Right now there seems to be enough population growth to support medical centers, but not a full service hospital.
